This is my experience with a the neighbors dog barking.
I live in a fairly quit neighborhood in Melbourne fl and over all i have no problems with my neighbors except for the one right behind me. When i first moved in there was a family of four with two Dachshund dogs, the dogs were relatively behaved and played with. Well over the past two to three years i guess there was a divorce in the family so these dogs were lonely and not played with anymore. So boy did the barking start to get out of hand quickly, the owner left them to go in and out at any time with a doggy door. These dogs will bark at anything if allowed, this is a short list of the barking that i was keep track of for the authoritys from 6/3/10 - 7/28/10 this was the worst.
6/3/2010 1025pm dog barking for at least 15 min, girlfriend trying to sleep. Can here dog all the way to the front of house.
6/4/2010 7am Dog barking
6/8/2010 845 pm Dog barking for almost half an hour while we are watching tv. Can not block it out. Starts barking again at 10:02 In bed trying to sleep. 10:34 dog starts barking again! 10:36pm dog barks
6/9/2010 Dog starts barking at 5:20 am for about 10-15min enough to annoy the shit out of us. 7am dog starts barking again,9pm dogs barking, trying to relax 9:08pm dogs still barking!
6/11/2010 Just spent the last 14 hours traveling , and come home to barking dogs at 8:24pm Frustrating!!!!!
6/13/2010 Dog started barking at 7:42 am in the morning hy on a Sunday, Got to love it!!!!
Dog Barking again at 8:20pm then form 9pm to about 9:35pm had to turn tv up just to drown out the dog. Freaking annoying.

10:17 barking called the non emergency police # lady said se may be able to send someone..

7/6/2010 well it was good while it lasted dog barking at 10 pm at night while we are tying to go to sleep. been barking for the last 20 min.
7/11/2010 been pretty good until this morning dog started barking at 730 am and woke me fucking up 8:19 the dog is yapping off and on still. ITs a fucking Sunday!!!
8:56and the fucking dog is still yapping I had to crank up the radio so I would not have to here the shrieking yapping from the back yard neighbors dog. 9:38 and the dog is still yapping. Back barking at 4:47pm on a Sunday

7/26/2010 Dogs woke us up form a dead sleap at 12am, did not shut up until 1230 lost allot of sleep.

At you can see this was not fun! So i starting look into devices that may help with the barking dogs. I searched the internet and found that there were ultrsonic devises that may help. After reading mixed reviews i tried the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent. It kind of looks like a small bird house and runs on a 9 volt battery. I said what the hell and ordered two from amazon. I set these on top of two electrical conduit pipe overlooking the fence into the back yard. At first the dogs were going crazy when they herd the the bark deter ant. But after about two weeks, it started to get better. The dogs were barking less and less so i was satisfied that the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent was working. So after about one month the barking was limited the short burst of barking. N?ot ware neer the somethme 3 plus hours of barking that i was seeing. The only thing i did not like about the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent, is they run on batteries only. I put up two of the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent so these were going though some batteries. So i decided to upgrade to the Dog Silencer Pro Ultimate Pack, the main reason was you can plug this into a 115v outlet and so you do not have to worry about the battery situation. After i add this item to my arsenal, the barking became even less. So i can honestly say if you have a neighbors dog barking driving you freaking crazy, give these items a try. I believe it is worth it even though it is not 100% guaranteed it will work and the mixed reviews.
