How to test an ultrasonic dog repellent whistle?
I bought a dog repellent whistle for my son who lives in Korea, dogs ignore it completely, how can I test it?
Yep this is a good scam actually, I bought it for my son who is having trouble with possible rabid dogs in Korea, the repellent whistle looks like a TV controller, I spect its just an empty box, dogs cant hear it and of course I cant hear it, how can I test it, cant find any sites online to play it down a mic etc, any ideas?
An oscilloscope is a GOOD idea and wud do the job, but only IF you can "make a connection" between the 'scope' and the whistle. the scope has one or two inputs and needs to connect to a source. your whistle has no 'connection' If the scope has enuff sensitivity you might see its signal on the scope, but if not you need to improvise somehow. Try a spool of insulated wire connected to the scope and pressed against the whistle. It might work.
