Does the product 'Bark Off' work right for dog barking?
I need help!! My dog used to bark the ENTIRE time i was gone. She obviously has separation anxiety and I've done everything I can to help ease it but she still would bark constantly. I bought one of those 'bark off' things from petco that sends ultrasonic waves every time they bark. Its seemed to work great because she isn't barking when I'm gone anymore but when i get home she is hiding under the bed and looks HORRIFIED.
On top of that... I've tested this thing by turning it on in my pocket while she was sleeping next to me and she jumped up and ran from the room like she heard the noise....I thought it was only supposed to go off if they barked! Does anyone know if the noise goes off just by turning it on?
I just want some reassurance that this thing is safe and that its ONLY going off when she is 'nuisance barking.' I've tried to call customer care and they're no help at all. Please help!
I would recommend a citronella spray collar over an ultrasonic device every time. The citronella collars work GREAT and don't scare dogs. Pet Edge online has them. Get some extra cans of spray, too.
